TIVAT

Tivat and Porto Montenegro are coastal resorts in Montenegro.

Besides being a popular tourist resort, Tivat is now a nautical centre of the southern Adriatic. There is now a luxury marina, a yacht club and new apartments.

Tivat is also where you find the local ferry to bring you back after visiting Kotor – a delightful short journey with fantastic scenery. (If there is a queue, it usually moves fast, but whilst waiting buy your ticket aprox 6€).

A good place to get a “bench” lunch is a place on the pier called Al Posto Siusto!

PORTO MONTENEGRO

Porto Montenegro is in the small town of Tivat, and is a newly developed luxury yacht marina for the rich and famous (Abramovich moors his yacht there).

It is surrounded with brand named shops, cafes and restaurants and luxury hotel. It is great for a short stop, wander and a coffee or cocktail served in style by the sea.

Directions by car

From Kotor continue along the coastal road towards Tivat, you will go through a long tunnel, a great short cut. It will bring you out just a mile or two from Tivat, here you will pick up signs for the local ferry terminal. The ferry takes you to the other side of the fjords and to the road that will take you back to Ivanica and from where you first started.
If you wish to visit Porto Montenegro then just go past the ferry terminal and continue along that road, following the signs.
