The abandoned, overtaken-by-nature feel of this place is really magical – the management has just let entropy do its thing here, to very romantic effect. The Trsteno Botanical Gardens and Arboretum stand proudly overlooking the island of Lopud. These were also the filming locations of Game of Thrones.
Enjoy getting lost in Trsteno and discovering all the crumbling enclosures, the baroque fountain, Summer Manor, pavilion and aqueduct and watching hummingbird hawk-moths feed at the flowering trees.
Having said the above Trsteno is not a large place to visit and can be walked around in about 15 minutes, so really it is more a place to visit en route to Slano, Ston or just on a day out.
